Researchers have discovered that individuals who are multilingual tend to think faster and more sharply. Moreover, being bilingual enhances brain efficiency and helps combat cognitive aging. The brains of bilingual individuals operate differently from those who speak only one language, allowing them to process information from various perspectives. It leaves quite an impression, doesn't it?

In our context, we are fortunate that our mother tongue is not English. However, English plays a crucial role in aptitude tests and official work. It is the language of communication in India and globally. As parents, our responsibility is to equip our children with the tools they need to succeed, and proficiency in English is one such essential tool.

Learning a new language, especially a non-native one, is a systematic and disciplined process, but the rewards are worth the effort. The younger one is, the easier it is to learn, as the mind is not bound by priorities and learning becomes an integral part of the curriculum. This is in contrast to the hurried pace of adulthood, where finer points of language mastery may be overlooked.

The benefits of learning English as a second language in the Indian context are immense. Some of these advantages include:

  1. Easier Social Connections: Reduced language barriers make it easier to make new friends. Speaking someone's language enhances the connection.

  2. Global Connectivity: English is one of the six languages used in the United Nations, and it is either a native or official language in more than 67 countries. This is crucial for a child's future education and global interactions.

  3. Diversity in India: Despite the diversity of languages in India, English is widely taught in schools and socially accepted. It becomes a common language of communication.

  4. Higher Education: Most higher education literature is available in English, making it essential for pursuing various fields like engineering, medical sciences, and physics.

  5. Increased Mental Flexibility: Learning English helps increase mental flexibility, avoiding feelings of being left out when others effortlessly understand the language.

  6. Comprehension and Communication Skills: Learning English enhances comprehension skills, helping children understand information, data, and different points of view.

  7. Brain Development: ESL (English as a Second Language) classes stimulate brain activity, improving problem-solving, abstract thinking, critical thinking, writing, and memory power.

  8. Competitive Edge: Bilingual children tend to be sharper and more innovative. English classes prepare them for the competitive world, teaching them to multitask and handle pressure.

  9. Cultural Appreciation: Proficiency in English allows children to appreciate the culture, thought processes, and lifestyles of citizens from other countries.

  10. Early Start for Future Success: Starting English classes early provides children with a proficiency edge, preparing them for higher studies and future challenges.

While our parents' generation often learned English later in their academic journey, the emphasis now is on early and effective learning. Royal Learning facilitates this by providing qualified teachers and tailored study materials in a relaxed atmosphere, ensuring that English learning aligns with the student's needs rather than merely following the school curriculum.
