Royal learning , Learning System

Every academic organization has its unique learning system, and that of Royal Learning seems to be a well-thought-out one, making Royal Learning a genuine platform. Positioned at the intersection of outcome-focused approaches, carefully researched pedagogy, tech-driven delivery, and operational excellence, you'll find Royal Learning. No other organization, especially in education, has delved as deeply into pedagogy or conducted extensive research in public speaking. However, Royal Learning has crafted its own pedagogy through years of research, piloting, and iterating. To ensure the best results for students, Royal Learning employs an optimal mix of learning formats, including one-on-one live learning, asynchronous learning, and real-world project-based learning.

In the Royal Learning community, guardians can choose from three offerings tailored to be easily understood by kids, all built on Royal Learning's proprietary C-Far Framework.

The Royal learning Pedagogy Frame Work: C-FAR

Also known as the Constructive Framework for Activity-Based Retention, the C-FAR Framework at Royal Learning comprises three effective learning methods.

  • 1-on-1 (1:1) Live Instruction: The learner is introduced to concepts through live sessions with their assigned teacher. These sessions cover what the learner will be studying and set expectations for their journey with Royal Learning. The teacher guides the learner's progress, corrects mistakes, and ensures a supportive learning experience.

  • Activity-Based Retention: To reinforce concepts and build knowledge, Royal Learning offers various activities designed by their team. These activities cater to the child's interests, ranging from writing to acting and podcasting. Supervised under Royal Learning, these activities aim to help the child retain and comprehend what they've learned during live sessions.

  • Periodic Assessments, Feedback, and Action Plan: Regular assessments provide insights into the learner's progress and understanding. Involving all stakeholders (student, teacher, and parents), these assessments facilitate communication through Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs). PTMs help parents and teachers discuss the child's performance and application of knowledge in daily activities.

Among Royal Learning's offerings is a 165-class program spanning 21 months, incorporating 1-on-1 live learning, asynchronous learning, and peer- and project-based learning. The 5-step methodology to develop student mastery includes:

  • Curiosity Check: An interactive Q&A session to gauge the child's openness to learning, identify areas for improvement, and assess existing knowledge on the topic.

  • Goal Setting: Learner and teacher collaborate to set goals and expectations for their learning sessions.

  • Concept Building: The student is taught the concept through various methods.

  • Outcome: Demonstrates the results, indicating the extent of learning and teaching.

  • Feedback and Recap: Allows the child to recap what's been taught, receive feedback on areas for improvement, and focus on aspects needing more attention in their learning journey.

Royal learning Assessment Framework

An assessment is also conducted periodically after every ten classes at Royal Learning to ensure that the student is progressing towards mastery. Using the criteria of content, critical thinking & creativity, and language & syntax under Matter, the learner is evaluated based on their proficiency level. The assessment determines whether they are emerging, satisfactory, on the road to mastery, or have already mastered the skill. 'Matter' is just one aspect; Manner and Method are the other two scales used for assessment.

Under Manner, the child is evaluated on their voice, body language, and confidence. In Method, the assessment focuses solely on the structure of the child's learning approach.

Student Community

As part of their learning system, Royal Learning is genuine because it values the idea and importance of children having fun while learning. Learning doesn't have to be dull; it can be exciting, and Royal Learning knows exactly how to make it enjoyable. With daily online clubs, competitions, and live events, there are eight active clubs in the Royal Learning community, and competitions take place every day.

  • Comedy Club

  • Royal Learning Ted Talk

  • Writer's Guild

  • YouTubing Club

Royal Learning offers seven connected learning activities for kids to enhance their learning abilities. Among these activities, reading plays a crucial role, allowing learners to expand and improve their grammar and vocabulary through continuous reading.

Student Curriculum

After thorough research, experts at Royal Learning have crafted a detailed curriculum that facilitates the mastery of communication and other essential skills. This curriculum is referred to as the 165 class transformation journey.

Senior Student Curriculum:

For senior learners, the curriculum begins with the class 1-30 step, covering lessons on storytelling, logical argumentation, and public performance. In the storytelling class, students are instructed in voice modulation, cultivating a growth mindset, and influencing through body language. Additionally, this class includes basic lessons in public speaking, teaching the art of delivering various types of speeches. The curriculum also focuses on building confidence, self-esteem, and preparing students to present publicly, be it giving a speech or performing stand-up comedy.

The journey progresses to the next step, class 31-60, where learners delve into story writing, adventure writing, and presentation skills. The curriculum covers the fundamentals of story writing, word usage in narration, and letter writing. Subsequently, learners are taught to be presenters, acquire entrepreneurial skills, and script and deliver a TEDx talk. This step includes learning about fantasy, adventure, and sports writing.

Completing this second step marks the child's progression to level 3 on their journey to mastery. While learners acquire essential skills for improvement, parents and guardians can choose to extend this transformation journey further.

For those opting to continue, the next step, classes 61-90, focuses on Charismatic Oration, Design Thinking, and Creative Expression. This level commences with lectures on self-confidence and becoming a charismatic speaker, followed by lessons on podcasting and TV presentation. It progresses to designing concepts, copywriting, and new-age writing. In the third step of this level, learners explore creative thinking, mime acting, and filmmaking. Successfully completing this stage, students move on to class 91-120, where they are taught opinion writing, leadership, influence, and persuasion. The final step, classes 121-165, concludes the journey with lessons in suspense writing, report writing, and biography.

Each level leading to level three incorporates a unique activity-based curriculum designed to test the presentation skills of each student.

  • First Level: Activities tailored to help children overcome shyness, build memory, and make effective word choices.

  • Second Level (Entrepreneur Level): Activities designed to teach the art of making a great first impression, including 'My elevator pitch' and the 'shark tank.'

  • Third Level (Ted Speaker): Activities designed to help children develop a powerful voice, script a TED talk, and deliver it effectively.

Student Curriculum for Grade K-1 :

For Grade K-1 at Royal Learning, the curriculum is distinct yet equally valuable, not falling short of the senior curriculum. Just like the senior curriculum, the Grade K-1 curriculum is a product of a well-thought-out process designed to empower young learners with excellent skills, which have, to date, been overlooked.

The 165 class transformation journey initiates with classes 1-30, where learners receive lessons on storytelling, leading to instruction in voice and fluency, and the introduction to writing. In these initial classes, children learn the art of storytelling, expressing personal stories, and cultivating a growth mindset. They discover how to use an impactful voice, control voice volume, enhance fluency, and develop confidence. Additionally, learners delve into expressing themselves through pictures, understanding the mechanics and rules of writing, and progressing to write simple items like cards and letters.

Moving forward from classes 1-30, students proceed to classes 31-60. Here, Grade K-1 learners enhance conversational and writing skills, delving into story writing. They learn to hold basic daily conversations, describe events, surroundings, and experiences. These classes also teach writing with capital letters, accurate spacing, and provide tools for improvement, ensuring progress in writing skills. Classes 31-60 culminate in teaching children how to write stories and craft narratives of personal events.

Class 61-90 follows with lessons on creativity, everyday writing, and grammar and vocabulary improvement. This third level begins with lectures on poetry and drama techniques, expanding to everyday writing, creative description on paper, and letter writing. Learners advance their grammar, learning to use simple pronouns, adjectives, and prepositions, along with understanding concord rules. The curriculum perfects vocabulary, spelling, consonant blends, vowel patterns, and includes lessons on affixes, homonyms, homophones, and more.

In Class 91-120, students focus on presentation skills, report writing, and persuasive writing. By the end of this set of classes, early learners should confidently deliver everyday presentations relevant to their age, even on unprepared topics. They develop strong voices, script and deliver TED talks, express opinions, delve into journalism, and deliver research writing along with opinion and persuasive essays.

Class 121-165, the final stage, introduces lessons on reading foundation, social and emotional skills, and logical thinking. At the conclusion of the 165 class transformation journey, learners will have developed emotional and social skills, the ability to identify and empathize with emotions, balanced with logical thinking to approach arguments with reason. Royal Learning ensures that every step of this journey empowers young minds with essential skills.

Royal learning’s Technology Platform: Scaling Globally

Since Royal Learning is an online learning community, its learning platform is primarily centered around technology. Royal Learning has made impressive strides in utilizing available technology, and while they continue to upgrade their tech and AI, the current achievements are noteworthy. Whether you're a learner or the guardian of a learner, the highly scalable technology platform offered by Royal Learning ensures a user-friendly and easily understandable online experience.

Students benefit from a customized learning plan accessible through their student dashboard, while teachers have dedicated dashboards. The platform includes automated diagnostic reports and student progress reports, among other features.

Royal Learning's technology extends to a Growth Tech, an Automated Growth Engine managing and documenting new student enrollments and class renewals for existing students. For new enrollments, the engine records details such as the classes or subjects the student will take, the student's ID, name, contact details, the total number of classes, and information about the assigned teacher. In the case of class renewals, the AI records payment success and associated information.

Moreover, Royal Learning's technology significantly reduces teachers' workload. With AI technology, learners can access their personalized learning plan and progress at their own pace, even without the physical presence of a teacher. This customized plan is accessible through the student's dashboard. The AI technology allows teachers to monitor and track learners' progress through the Learning Management System (LMS). The AI engine processes data points, tracking progress in areas like pronunciation, voice, and grammar. Real-time assessments from both the Artificial Intelligence engine and the assigned teacher provide feedback for the child's progress and performance, increasing the likelihood of further advancement. The Parents Teacher Meeting is data-driven and automated, aligning with the learner's progress. In the PTM (Parents Teacher Meeting) Deck, tailored to the learner's custom learning plan and current classes, parents have the opportunity to discuss their delight or concerns regarding their children's progress.

Royal learning's Teacher Hiring Plan

According to Royal Learning, the teachers they plan to hire should be ambitious with a strong desire to succeed, possess a sense of self-worth and respect, and be capable of self-governance, acting on their values and interests. Additionally, candidates should be skilled in building networks, know how to collaborate with others, and work effectively as part of a team.

With the AI engine freeing up a significant portion of the teacher's work and time, the role is more akin to that of a mentor than an assessor. On average, a teacher at Royal Learning spends 20% of their time on content preparation and 40% on assessing.

Special Initiatives By Royal learning

The learning system at Royal Learning is not only based on actions but also on results. Using the Spark Score, Royal Learning can measure the number of students who have reached mastery across different parameters. These parameters include content, structure, confidence, body language, voice, language and syntax, and critical thinking and creativity. The Spark Score reveals that while about 52% of learners are heading for mastery in classes with fewer than 20 students, in classes with more than 60 students, those on their way to mastery increase to 68%.

Royal Learning organized an event called Spark Tank. In this event, students pitched their ideas to potential investors. According to Kunal, one of the founders, the event will take place once every two years, and it is Royal Learning's way of encouraging learners, no matter how young they are, to be passionate about entrepreneurship. The event had 15 students from India and 17 from other countries, including Saudi Arabia, Canada, the USA, etc., making a total of 32 entries from around the world. The first Spark Tank edition, which was thrilling and everything to write home about, took place in December 2021, and the Royal Learning team is very confident and assured that there would be an even better second edition soon.

Also, BWEducation confirmed that on February 7, 2022, Royal Learning launched its monthly Newsletter called Spark Times. Spark Times is a digital Newsletter that is led by children in the Royal Learning community who are between the ages of 7 and 16. Although it is a Newsletter, it is in the form of a Newspaper with different columns, allowing the different children with their interests to participate actively.

Along with the methods of teaching used by the experienced teacher, Royal Learning understands that the teacher is not the only one playing a part in the learner's progress, so they also bring the parents into the equation using feedback. From the assessment carried out every ten classes, a Data-driven Automated Parent Teacher Meeting is held so that parents can give their feedback on the child's progress and they can talk about where they think more improvements can be made. There are currently 200 Parents Teachers Meetings taking place every day on Royal Learning, and its statistics keep growing.

Initiatives like Spark Score, Spark Tank, and Parent-Teacher meetings are major examples of why Royal Learning is genuine.

Royal learning Impact In The World.

As it stands, Royal Learning, being the first program made available globally for communication skills, has had an impact not only on different parts of India but also internationally. Over 1000 students who have attended classes in the Royal Learning program have become TedX speakers, meaning that they have given notable, clear, and coherent speeches on TedX. one thousand Royal Learning-taught students are authors who have published at least one book, making them available for sale on different platforms, including Amazon. Through the Royal Learning podcast and other means, students in the Royal Learning community have delivered about 1000 speeches.

Royal Learning currently has 20% international users, including from countries like the US, Canada, France, etc. Forty-five percent of Indian users are from Tier 2 and 3 cities of India, and the impact in these parts of India has been no different.

Royal learning Learning Impact in Tier 2 and Tier 3 in India

In Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India, like Agra, Jaipur, Lucknow, etc., parents and guardians do not have good enough communication training to help and teach their kids these essential skills, and that is where Royal Learning comes in. The startup is in-depthly teaching children in these lower-class cities the communication skills they need to measure up with their peers. These kids who wouldn't have aspired to have a bright future, study abroad, and chase top professions can now both dream big and have it in mind that they are able to achieve their dreams. Royal Learning is successfully removing the barrier and enabling access to a required skill that would normally set children from tier 2 and 3 apart from kids from metro cities.

Royal learning Impact In International Countries

Apart from their impact in India, Royal Learning is also making an impact in the Western world and the Middle East. That is why Royal Learning is genuine not only in India but in Western countries like the US and Canada and in Middle East countries too.

In the US and Canada, where the economy is communication-driven and most professions require the labor force to possess top communication skills, introverted kids and kids who are unable to communicate correctly are left out of progress. This leaves only a few to enjoy the benefits of the labor force. Royal Learning's one-on-one tutoring has been able to help kids from this geographic setting build on their communication skills. It is the dream of the US parent to get a personal tutor for their child, and that too at an affordable rate, and that is exactly what Royal Learning is doing. We have been able to do this as parents from different races and social backgrounds in this geographic area have signed their children up for Royal Learning classes.

The Middle East is quite familiar with Indian educational brands, and with Royal Learning being an online class, countries like Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, etc., have been able to access these classes and help their children communicate in English and that too, confidently.

Royal learning Might Be The Solution To The Lack Of 21st-Century Skills

Why is Royal Learning genuine? Because it recognizes the need for communication and how it is the gateway to 21st Century skills (collaboration, creativity, critical thinking). Royal Learning founders decided to shift their focus from teaching English and Math when they discovered that most parents and guardians chose courses on communication for their wards. After much research, Maneesh and Kunal believed that when anyone starts learning and mastering good communication skills, they will be able to expand and improve on the spectrum of 21st-century skills. This means that communication is at the center of 21st-century skills, and due to a lack of communication skills in the workplace, many are unable to get the other required skills leading to loss by employers.

The claims and research made by Royal Learning are not wrong, as different other research and sources have shown the importance of communication in our current era. Lexicon says that 80% of American employees believe communication is crucial for developing trust with employers. Bit blog says there is a 4.5x increase in employee retention in businesses that teach communication skills compared to businesses with no practical communication in the workplace. According to Pumble, Employers see 5x higher performance of companies when collaborative work is promoted. Since collaboration is one of the 3C’s in the spectrum of 21st Century skills, we understand that communication also plays a massive part in collaborative work. Lastly, CMSWire says that 97% of employees believe creativity and communication impact daily task efficiency.

For Royal Learning, the lack of communication skills is hiding in plain sight, and most people realize that they or their children lack it very late in life's journey, when nothing but very little can be done to adjust it. Even in schools and formal education settings, the courses primarily focused on and taught are coding, tutoring, math, and science, but 21st-century skills are neglected. Royal Learning plans to be the de facto destination for 21st Century skills globally. This goal is backed by the fact that although $80 billion is the value of the global market for skills-enhancing communication, it remains primarily untapped. Royal Learning, which has a kids segment for mastering communication skills, believes that it is a category creator in the global market, and it only plans on growing.

The community has a 3 phase evolution to help any child take over communication skills, and this phase spans all age groups. Royal Learning and geographies. The stages in the evolution are:

  • Early invention + communication skills,

  • Critical thinking and creativity + age group expansion

  • Collaboration + non-native markets.

Royal Learning understands that the right time to start this evolution is when employers are beginning to require the Spectrum of 21st Century Skills, including communication, and when parents are looking for ways to teach the 4C's to their children. Royal Learning is making these neglected skills accessible to as many people as possible. Put simply, there is a latent need for communication skills; parents have discovered these needs and the need for solutions. There is a way to fulfill this need through digital delivery, and Royal Learning is the center stage.

Royal Learning is also at the right place because even though they are building this setup from India, they are making it available to the world. Their one-on-one live learning experience is made possible because of the availability of affordable, high-quality supplies for teachers. Enrolling your child means that your child would be taught by someone from a pool of 1.8 million high-quality English teachers in India. With 400,00  teachers being added regularly. The 1-on-1 (1:1) live teaching, which involves one teacher to a student, is of high importance, which is why it is affordable.

Conclusion

Following the impressive statistics and all information provided by Royal Learning, it can be seen that the foundation, idea, and well-thought-out plan behind the edtech startup are making us lean toward a positive answer. There are only a few learning communities that pay attention to teaching 21st-century skills, and as it stands, Royal Learning is on the path of becoming the global leader in teaching and learning any of the 21st-century skills.
